Russian painter, early 20th century
A forward-leaning Russian full bearded man. Unsigned. Dated January 19 1905 (in Cyrillic). Oil on canvas mounted on board. 34×23 cm.
Provenance: Acquired by the Danish ambassador, Jørgen Adamsen (1920–2010), when he was posted as charge d'affaires at the Danish Embassy in Moscow 1960–1964. Thence by descent to his son with residence in Denmark until today.
More smaller crackles. More smaller retouches, especially on the light background.
